The idea

Hi, I'm Wenzel, online as Futurenaut. I live in Karlsruhe, and neither my flat nor my office has air conditioning. During the extreme heat I could barely concentrate, so I combed the city for an air-conditioned café. Eventually I found one. But only because I know pretty much every café in Karlsruhe by heart.

I posted about it on Instagram and got an unusually large number of replies for the size of my account. That made it clear: there is a real gap here. On hot days, a lot of people in Germany are looking for a cool place where they can work or simply catch their breath.

That's how the idea for wirsindcool.com was born: a map where the community collects air-conditioned cafés, for everyone.
